Hi I'm doing a presentation for my university to educate students on hinduism because it is not represented at my school. If anyone could message me answering some personal questions it would be appreciated. Please include where youre from, how you came to your faith. What the faith means to you, how you personally worship, how you have faced discrimination due to your faith. By who mainly and what was an incident. Your identity will remain anonymous in the presentation, thankyou.

Hi. I am Ricky Thakur from Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. I am a born Hindu, and have my faith inherited in me. A Hindu is a Hindu by birth, and we dont require ant formalities to confirm our faith.
Faith for me is the essence of life. Without faith nothing can exist. When we travel by air, we have faith in pilot and we hand our lives to him. This is faith. When Hindus live, they hand their life to God.
There are no compulsions on worshiping God in a specific manner. While walking, while sleeping, while eating, while sitting, we speak to God. The God is within us, and we worship Him in various forms as well. There are many ways like chanting, havan, offerings, etc. through which we worship God. Even performing our duties and offering the same to God, (Karma-yoga) is also a way to worship God. I personally dont have a single way of worship and try various ways as monotony leads to boredom. We have that freedom in Hinduism.
I belong to a place where Muslim teachers taught us to meditate & enchant OM. My Guru, Sant Shri Asaramji Bapu has many disciples belonging to various caste, religions, faith, etc. So, haven't faced discrimination as such. But ya, at workplace, have faced it mainly because I am not a south Indian. There are discrimination on the basis of language, caste, region, etc. in India. Though have faced internal discrimination, not faced any because of my faith. I am a Hindu, and proud to be one.

    Namaskar,

My name is Karan and i am hindu by birth, Faith means to connected with god and listening to them it can happen by our soul, as in Bhagwat Geeta , it is clearly written that every soul is connected to god. so listening to your soul means liestening to god. Every morning i do meditation and i think it's the most simplest way to worship god.

    i didn't face any discrimination.

Most of questions are personal than religious. Appears more likely a survey :)

Religions can be discussed on following points
    1. The God
    2. The universe, its constituents and propgation
    3. Living beings and its relation with material world and God.
    4. Propagation and sequence of lives
    5. The religious codes in relation with individual and society
    6. The tools religions provides for human to achieve his goals as human.

    etc...

    Shri Hari Om!

I am really sorry, but I don't think taking personal informations will really give any Information on Hinduism. Hinduism is a very serious religion with advance inherent conepts like Incarnation, Rebirth, Habitual evolution, Manifestation, the material and non material unification etc. Knowing Hinduism itself is a joyful experience an exploration of completely new universe.

Anyway, all the best, hope you would get enough data.

    Shri Hari Om!!
