1. Neither in this world nor elsewhere is there any happiness in store for him who always doubts. 2. Delusion arises from anger. The mind is bewildered by delusion. Reasoning is destroyed when the mind is bewildered. One falls down when reasoning is destroyed. 3. The power of God is with you at all times; through the activities of mind, senses, breathing, and emotions; and is constantly doing all the work using you as a mere instrument. 4. The wise sees knowledge and action as one; they see truly. 5. The mind acts like an enemy for those who do not control it. 6. Perform your obligatory duty, because action is indeed better than inaction. 7. Sever the ignorant doubt in your heart with the sword of self-knowledge. Observe your discipline. Arise. 8. Man is made by his belief. As he believes, so he is. 9. Hell has three gates: lust, anger, and greed. 10. There is nothing lost or wasted in this life. 11. The mind is restless and difficult to restrain, but it is subdued by practice. 12. People will talk about your disgrace forever. To the honored, dishonor is worse than death. 13. To the illumined man or woman, a clod of dirt, a stone, and gold are the same. 14. Creation is only the projection into form of that which already exists. 15. One can become whatever one wants to be if one constantly contemplates on the object of desire with faith. 16. Fear not what is not real, never was and never will be. What is real, always was and cannot be destroyed. 17. The wise should not unsettle the mind of the ignorant who is attached to the fruits of work. 18. The faith of each is in accordance with one’s own nature. 19. Death is as sure for that which is born, as birth is for that which is dead. Therefore grieve not for what is inevitable. 20. Unnatural work produces too much stress. 21. Setting aside all noble deeds, just surrender completely to the will of God. I shall liberate you from all sins. Do not grieve. 22. Much better to do one’s own work even if you have to do it imperfectly than it is to do somebody else's work perfectly. 23. I give the knowledge, to those who are ever united with Me and lovingly adore Me. 24. I look upon all creatures equally; none are less dear to me and none more dear. But those who worship me with love live in me, and I come to life in them. 25. A Self-realized person does not depend on anybody except God for anything. 26. One attains the eternal imperishable abode by My grace, even while doing all duties, just by taking refuge in Me. 27. Only the fortunate warriors, O Arjuna, get such an opportunity for an unsought war that is like an open door to heaven. 28. God is in everything as well as above everything. 29. The wise do not rejoice in sensual pleasures. 30. Neither do I see the beginning nor the middle nor the end of Your Universal Form. 31. The one who sees inaction in action, and action in inaction, is a wise person. 32. I am the sweet fragrance in the earth. I am the heat in the fire, the life in all living beings, and the austerity in the ascetics. 33. You grieve for those who are not worthy of grief, and yet speak the words of wisdom. The wise grieve neither for the living nor for the dead. 34. There was never a time when I, you, or these kings did not exist; nor shall we ever cease to exist in the future. 35. Works do not bind Me, because I have no desire for the fruits of work. 36. Both you and I have taken many births. I remember them all, O Arjuna, but you do not remember. 37. The one who truly understands My transcendental birth and activities, is not born again after leaving this body and attains My abode. 38. To those ever steadfast devotees, who always remember or worship Me with single-minded contemplation, I personally take responsibility for their welfare. 39. Karma-yoga is a supreme secret indeed. 40. Karma does not bind one who has renounced work. 41. The wise should work without attachment, for the welfare of the society. 42. For those who wish to climb the mountain of spiritual awareness, the path is selfless work. For those who have attained the summit of union with the Lord, the path is stillness and peace. 43. Though I am the author of this system, one should know that I do nothing and I am eternal. 44. They all attain perfection When they find joy in their work. 45. One who abandons all desires and becomes free from longing and the feeling of ‘I’ and ‘my’ attains peace. 46. There is no one hateful or dear to Me. But, those who worship Me with devotion, they are with Me and I am also with them. 47. Those who long for success in their work here [on the earth] worship the demigods. 48. I give heat, I send as well as withhold the rain, I am immortality as well as death. 49. The evil doers, the ignorant, the lowest persons who are attached to demonic nature, and whose intellect has been taken away by Maya do not worship or seek Me. 50. Whosoever desires to worship whatever deity with faith, I make their faith steady in that very deity. 51. I know, O Arjuna, the beings of the past, of the present, and those of the future, but no one really knows Me 52. The unsuccessful yogi is reborn, after attaining heaven and living there for many years, in the house of the pure and prosperous. 53. The mind alone is one’s friend as well as one’s enemy. 54. I am seated in the hearts of all beings. 55. There is nothing, animate or inanimate, that can exist without Me. 56. The One who leaves the body, at the hour of death, remembering Me attains My abode. There is no doubt about this. 57. Those who have no faith in this knowledge follow the cycle of birth and death without attaining Me.
