Whenever we start discussing Hinduism then it very vast as it is the most ancient culture and need extensive research. And in this extensive research we can found numerous sacred books and scriptures like Vedas, Upanishads, the Puranas, the Epics - Ramayana, Mahabharata and the Bhagavad Gita.

May I know key Hindu scriptures?

    Waiting.......

I would include Agamas, works of individual saints, be it original or commentary, and other language scriptures (especially Tamil, like Tirumantiram, and Tirrukural).

As for importance, it depends on sect.

The main and most important hindu scriptures of Hinduism are collectively referred to as "Shastras".

These are the spiritual books that are discovered by different sages and saints over the different period of time in the Hindu history.

There are 2 types of sacred holy Hinduism scriptures are follows:

    "Shruti" (heard)

    "Smriti" (memorized).

Shruti: These knowledge of these books are passed on from generation to generation via their respective spiritual teachers. Shruti comprises of the Vedas and the Upanishads.

Veda are further divided in 4 parts

    • Rig Veda (Royal Knowledge)

    • Sama Veda (Knowledge of Chants)

    • Yajur Veda (Knowledge of Sacrificial Rituals)

    • Atharva Veda (Knowledge of Incarnations)

There are 108 Upanishads out of which these are the main one's

    Isa Upanishad

    Kena Upanishad

    Katha Upanishad

    Prashna Upanishad

    Mundaka Upanishad

    Mandukya Upanishad

    Taitiriya Upanishad

    Aitareya Upanishad

    Chandogya Upanishad

    Brihadaranyaka Upanishad

Now coming to smriti , they refers to 'remembered' or 'memorized' poetry & epics. 3 most important Smriti's are as follows:

    The Bhagavad Gita

    The Mahabharata

    The Ramayana

    • Hinduism is very much religious beliefs of exposure. Hindus are the most innovative people, and their literary works is recognized by continuous issue with humanity's religious success. In reaction to this issue they have designed intricate philosophical ideas and wrote great impressive poetry, story literary works and stories. These wide epics, and the four 'books' of the Vedas, were initially passed on by a incredible human sequence of storage, and only published down hundreds of years after their actual collection.
